What takes place during birth is the first pattern that we
consider and then we work out from that how it is mirrored
into the behaviour of everyday life. Birth is the passage
from a water environment to an air environment and usually
involves an element of trauma. This trauma is re-enacted
to a certain degree when there are important actions to be
taken in our lives.
Type of Birth |
The way it affects
us |
Normal
|
From birth to first breath
is usually the time between our thought and action. In
a straightforward birth, this will happen in a fairly prompt
way. In life there is little if no gap between the
thought and action.
|
Umbilical cord around the neck
|
The action of birth is impeded
by the cord pressing against the neck, preventing the baby
from breathing. This was the initial pattern. When
important action is needed, there will first be a lack
of breath and a sense of panic and then an easing of the
situation, as when the cord was removed from the neck.
|
Feet first
|
The feet emerge first at birth
and so the person will plunge into action “feet first” and
then think it through afterwards.
|
Premature birth |
The person will go through
the last stages of gestation outside the protection of
the womb, so that in life, when they act, there will be
a feeling of vulnerability, fear….the world will
be approached first by the mind. It creates two types
of people:
One – nervous people who feel that they do not
have a skin.
Two – people who tend to be obese and lymphatic, recreating
the cocoon of the womb in their own body. They will tend
to choose professions relating to helping others find their
place in society e.g.: social workers. |
Caesarean
|
The mother has anaesthetic.
The abstract of this is that one goes into a state of absence
of consciousness. The mother is operated on, so there is
external intervention. The baby is taken out of the womb
by someone else – a doctor or surgeon. So one
goes from an aquatic environment to an air environment
totally without struggle and the baby is suddenly assaulted
by lights and noise.
In life, the person relies very much on others to extricate
them from situations and will give up easily. Sometimes
they go straight into things, feeling it simple and are
then engulfed by panic and fear…how did they get
themselves into this? |
Born with Forceps
|
As there is a lot of pressure
on the head during the passage from the womb to the external
world, so that person will go into a state of absence when
it is needed to move from one space to another, or one
function to another such as being at University and going
out into life. The last few months of university life will
be very difficult.
|
|
Late birth
|
The person will often be late
for appointments and functions. They took a long time in
preparation for action i.e. the birth, and so in life they
take a long time to prepare for action.
|
|
Waters broken early
|
The mother often has to be
given medication and there is loss of liquid. The loss
of liquid affects the emotional level and a person born
this way will compensate by going at things with great
emotion, or withdrawing from emotion and appearing cold
and difficult. The medication may mean that they need a
little push from others in life, to go into action and
will then protest “Don’t you dare help me!”
|
|
Induced
|
They need circumstances to
push them to act such as deadlines which can create reactions
such as anger and resentment. They had outside intervention
with their very first action.
|
|
Quick birth
|
All movements and actions and
thought are very fast.
|
The birth process is reflected in the subsequent life pattern
of the individual. The way we were born is the way we act
in life now in important situations.
Occasionally, there may be a seeming opposite from this as we try
to over-compensate.
